Volume 4, Number 1, 1997, Pages 8-10
Abstract:
This article examines pregnancy prevention with Hispanic youth. Dr. Brindis discusses how traditional values, acculturation, language barriers and other factors may affect pregnancy prevention efforts among Hispanic communities. She follows with an extensive list of implementations and recommendations for 1) state boards of education and state and federal policymakers, 2) educators and other service providers, 3) school districts, and 4) family planning educators and providers. While this list was generated with Hispanic Communities in mind it is valid for any community wishing to target a program toward a specific population.
