Adolescents' Beliefs About Rape: A Preliminary Study

Many people are aware that violence against women is rampant in our society. What they often do not realize is the prevalence of rape among young women. Numerous studies have found that adolescent girls between the ages of 12 and 19 are at risk, not only for stranger rape, but also for rape that occurs within the context of dating. This article reviews a study with 122 youth, examining their beliefs about rape.
