With increased national attention on obesity, it is important to understand the relationship between healthy eating, body dissatisfaction, and eating disorders so we don’t inadvertently encourage unhealthy weight loss behaviors as we address the issue of obesity. Indeed, extreme weight control behaviors are more common among overweight than average weight or underweight girls. This issue examines the continuum between healthy eating and eating disorders.
