According to the most recently available statistics, youth ages 12 to 17 account for a quarter of all substantiated reports of child abuse received by child protective service agencies. While abuse in childhood has been related to a number of later problems, little research has been conducted on the effects of adolescent maltreatment. Volume 11(1) of The Prevention Researcher focuses on adolescent maltreatment.
