While current data is showing that alcohol use is remaining relatively steady, a third (32%) of high school seniors still report having gotten drunk in the past 30 days, and similar numbers (30%) report binge drinking (drinking five or more drinks in a row) is important for all of us to be aware of the prevention literature. With this in mind, volume 9(3) of The Prevention Researcher focuses on the topic of adolescent alcohol use. We examine the current alcohol use trends and the impact of family, friends, school, and religion on teen alcohol use. We then examine community-based, school-based, and policy/enforcement prevention approaches.
