Editor's Note: Don't miss our 2009 issue, Preventing Adolescent Dating Violence.

In the words of our authors, Dr. Vangie Foshee and colleagues: "Partner violence burdens the health care system and the physical and mental health of individuals and family members. It is considered a major public health problem in the United States.... (and) often begins during adolescence." Volume 7(1) of The Prevention Researcher focuses on the important issue of adolescent dating violence.

Published in 2000, this issue looks gender and contextual factors in adolescent dating violence, a preliminary evaluation of the Safe Dates Project (now designated a Model Program by CSAP), and a look at adolescents' beliefs about rape.
