Released November 9, 2009
Sexuality and sexual behavior are a normal part of human development. As youth move through their teen years they become increasingly interested in learning about and experimenting with their sexuality. The November issue of The Prevention Researcher steps back from the usual sex-related topics of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, and broadens our perspective to look at sexuality as a whole. Articles in this issue explore how practitioners can work with parents to promote healthy sexuality among their adolescent-aged youth, the impact of the media (new and traditional) on adolescent sexual behaviors, and the needs of youth with moderate disabilities.
